On the 7th of November CMH Umhlanga GM took part in the Gary Mackay Charity Golf Day at the prestige Durban Country Club in support of the family of avid golfer, father and friend of the community Gary Mackay.
The golfing community and businesses in Durban came in full support of the golf day to raise funds for a great cause and what a day for golfing it was, perfect weather gave the golfers a great opportunity to enjoy the day and raise awareness for the cause.
CMH Umhlanga GM hosted a mini competition in line with the Golf day competition at the putting practice green, which required a ticket purchase at registration and gave away prizes for a the winners and surprises for those who didn’t. All proceeds received went towards the charity with the winner walking off with a prized putter.
Almost all the participants tried the hard putt and some more than once but in the end only one guy managed to get it in and on the first try, Ian McFarlane walked away the winner for the mini competition, the great prize sponsored by the Golf day organisers and the bragging rights of the only person to get the ball in.
All in all it was a great day with a successful turn out in the sun and support for the Mackay family and awareness to the issue of increasing crime. CMH is proud to be a sponsor of an event that will benefit others.
