When buying a new car, as much as style, cost efficiency, warranties and price are a big factor in your decision making, the most important factor you should consider is the safety of yourself, your passengers and other road users. After all, family comes first, and no one drives a vehicle by themselves.
An independent company has taken all the hard work out of the investigation of safety for the rest of us. We know them as the Euro NCAP people (New Car Assessment Programme). They have devised a series of tests that represent real life accident situations, and assess the level of damage, injury or in the worst case, death of the occupants of the vehicle, pedestrians and other road users.
They update their testing procedures and tests on vehicles periodically, to keep up to date with technology and the extra performance that we are able to get out of our vehicles.
They take into consideration the standard safety technology already in the vehicle, and put the vehicle through numerous tests to obtain realistic results, representing the ratings using a system on stars.
The more stars the better
The highest rating you can get is a 5 star rating, which represents that the vehicle performs well in terms of crash protection and is well equipped with crash avoidance technology.
On the other end of the scale, the lowest you can get is a 1 star rating, which represents that the vehicle only has marginal crash protection.
When you buy an Opel, you can rest assured that your vehicle is one of the safest on the road. With ratings right up there in the stratosphere, Opel is proud to say that all of their vehicles pass the tests with flying colours.
The Opel Ratings
Opel Adams have a 4 star rating
Opel Astras have a 5 star rating
Opel Corsas have a 4 star rating
Opel Mokkas have a 5 star rating
Opels tick all the boxes of requirements of a new vehicle; they have style in bucket loads, they are cost effective, they have comprehensive warranties, are true value for money and excellent safety ratings.
Don’t compromise on the safety of your loved ones.
