CMH Opel Umhlanga in partnership with Rox Beach Classic & Umhlanga Lifesaving Club hosted the Rox Beach Charity Run from Umhlanga beach to Umdloti beach.
This fantastic event took place on 23rd of September and our fired-up team were up and ready at 6am setting up and showing our full support for the runners, bystanders and of course the organisers. From early on the crowd started filling up, everyone ready to take part in one of the four categories which consisted of a 4km, 8km and 14km run as well as a 14km fat bike race, something for everyone.
The Races all started at 8am sharp with all the contestants early in and roaring to go, the weather was perfect for the event cool, calm with not a drop of rain in sight and the water was perfect, ready for all the participants to jump in after the race.
The race itself started at Umhlanga beach from the boardwalk on the sand and headed up to Umdloti with different circle points for the different categories. All the action happened on the sand and everyone knows how challenging soft sand can be, but all the racers took up the challenge and completed the race.
Our awesome Opel team had a great time supporting the racers handing out drinks and cheering on the racers as well as handing over the prize money at the end. We finished off with a celebration braai a day early for Heritage Day.
All in all a great day was had with all the proceeds going towards charity and further development and we look forward to being part of this awesome, fulfilling event in the future.
